Strike Up A Conversation

Why do you think people are less likely to start up a conversation with someone they don't know? Do you think it's because they aren't interested in the person? Because they think they'll never see the person again, so they have no reason to? Or do you think it's because they think they might be rejected?

Post your thoughts

i wouldnt because i would never see them again. i mean, what would we talk about? maybe if there was a topic to discuss id consider it but other than what would we talk about? farts in the wind? the crack in my butt?

REJECTION that is what i would be scared of. also i would talk to most girls randomly but not guys. i am terrified of straight guys. mostly because i don't want to get hate crimed. lol.

i dont talk to random people because im really shy. also, my confidence is lacking and i swear everyone is judging me. maybe other people just feel inferior to another because of their own current social status.

I wouldn't because I wouldn't know what jokes I'd be able to make around them, I'd worried I would offend them and theyd remember me as 'that asshole girl'. and also because I'd be afraid that I might become attached to them in our short meeting and then I'd always wonder about them in the back of my mind.

One I think it is simply because I DONT KNOW THE PERSON... then again it is easy for me to start a conversation with a person that I dont know. I do it all the time. But sometimes I just do not feel like talking to random people. I just dont HAVE TIME for that. Us New Englanders are use to speed- you know doing things fast... we are always in a hurry...ALWAYS!!!

I think its just cause i have nothing to say to them. If i dont know them then I dont know what kind of personality they have, or wat we have in common, so usually I just stay quiet.
